When I was a kid, I never would have dreamed that I would become a photographer. I loved taking pictures, but, man… I was terrible! There are disposable camera film rolls full of peach fingertips to prove it.
Needless to say, I’ve come a long way in the last 25 years!
In that time, I’ve learned a lot of things that have become cornerstones of the way I photograph. Some of them are about the art itself, of course, but other things are about ways to live life.
So what do sessions based on those lessons look like?
They look like creating authentic connections. We take the time to get to know you, to develop a relationship that goes beyond client/photographer. Some of my dearest friends are people I’ve interacted with from behind a camera. That bond will make you more relaxed in front of the camera, producing shots that are genuine and real.
They look like telling the story of your life. Our sessions will be nothing like school photography, where you’re contorted into an uncomfortable pose, feeling that if you breathe, you’re going to ruin the shot. We want to see your heart. With us, there will be laughter, genuine smiles, and maybe even a tear or two as you interact with each other. We’re just lucky enough to capture those moments.

FAQ
WHERE DID THE NAME 19/19 PHOTOGRAPHY COME FROM?
Some people have thought we chose 19/19 for a year or because it’s better than 20/20 - I wish I had thought of that! Actually, the name 19/19 Photography was inspired by a chapter in the book of Psalms (as Psalms is the nineteenth book of the Bible), chapter 19. This passage speaks of creation glorifying God and displaying His glory. This Psalm echoes my desire as a photographer—to use that which God has created and blessed us with here on Earth to glorify Him, and to capture each person at the heart of who God created him or her to be.
WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?
I try to keep things pretty true to how you see them in real life. I know there are a lot of trends out there, but I feel like your pictures should be timeless. You don't want to look back in 20 years and see something that looks dated. It should look as fresh and natural as it does on the day you take them.
HOW LONG IS FULL-DAY WEDDING COVERAGE?
I get there while you are in hair and makeup (or earlier if other prep steps come first), and I stay either until your planned exit, or after some time into open dancing if you don't have an exit planned. We can discuss the specifics for your wedding day personally when you contact us.
HOW MANY IMAGES DO YOU DELIVER?
Of course, that depends on the kind of shoot. For weddings, I average 500-700; it really depends on the length of the day and how many elements are a part of the ceremony and reception.
As for all other portrait shoots (engagement, families, seniors, etc.), it really depends on the amount of time you have allocated for your shoot. I want to give you as many pictures as I can, though, and will do everything in my power to do that.
