For the Couples Whose Love Story Looks Nothing Like a Pinterest Board

Hey, I'm Laura

Ask me about my Starry Night camera strap and we'll be friends for life.

You've probably looked at photos of yourself before and thought, "That's not how I actually look." Or maybe you've already decided you're just not a photogenic person. Either way, you show up to a session hoping for the best, but kind of bracing for photos you'll never use.

I've been photographing people for over 19 years, and the thing I've learned is that the best shots almost never happen when someone's trying to pose. They happen in the middle of a story, when someone's laughing at a terrible joke, or when I ask what made their best friend fall in love with them and they light up answering it. And that’s precisely why I ask those questions. I also tell jokes that definitely don't land… That's part of the plan, too.

When I'm not photographing, I'm trying to visit every Major League Baseball stadium with my mom (current count: 12) or figuring out which production of Wicked to see next (current count: 16).

What a Session Looks Like

From First Message to Final Gallery

You bring yourself and I'll take care of absolutely everything else.

1.

Say Hello

Fill out the contact form and tell me a little about what you're looking for and your date. I'll get back to you quickly, answer any questions, and send you all the details for making this official.

2.

The Details

Leading up to our session, I handle everything that could go sideways before it gets the chance to. For weddings, I send over a details sheet, a wedding party list request, and a family photo template so nothing gets missed.

3.

Gallery Day

Portrait galleries go out within about four weeks. Wedding teasers are in your inbox within a week, and your full flash drive follows within 12 weeks. Fair warning — you’re going to have a very hard time picking favorites.
